With advances in AI/Robotics, the movie is partly conceivable. INteresting concept/plot with some twists & humor .. I did enjoy the movie, even though giving it only three stars.rh
If you like the folk horror genre of film, no doubt you’ll enjoy Midsommar. Befitting of the genre, there is the unsettling isolation of not just location, but of language, customs, and culture. As the film unfolds, so comes the “great” deception, a characteristic of the genre that envelopes its characters, ex., newcomers, outsiders, etc., in dread, even death. While Midsommar plays a bit too long before its “payoff,” something 2024’s Get Away, a comedy/folk horror film also set in Sweden, suffers from as well, it is worth a watch for its suspense, unease, and a “what would you do?” question if in a similar situation - run (for your life) or stay (as a guest). Most assuredly, as an audience member, you keep wanting to shout “leave, leave now!” 🍿
I watch a lot of Holocaust movies/documentaries but this one was the only one so far that I didn't enjoy. These second or third generation children should leave their parents alone. You can see they're not comfortable with anything to do with this, especially the son of Hoss. He didn't know anything about it and now in his eighties, he's horrified by what his father did but what can he do about it? It's not what he remembers of his father, who was a loving father and husband in his recollection. And the daughter of the Holocaust survivor was so whiny. Her mother was so strong and still is strong at 98, get your act together and let your mother live the rest of her life in peace, without being asked if she'd like to visit Auschwitz (of course she wouldn't!) and talk to Germans who had nothing to do with what happened to her. She survived, let her live life in the present and stop dredging up the past. It didn't happen to you. It happened to her and she's made a happy life since then in spite of it.
I true depiction of how families become disfunctional and how people handle the issues. If you have a UK background this is one to watch
Exceptional biopic with parts of 40 truly transformative songs.Authentic depiction of the time, place and style of the early 60’s era.Sincerely acted by enormous talent. Stay thru credits & listen to three brilliant, inspiring masterpieces of powerful music. My favorite film of the year!
I don't want to give anything away, but the humans were so despicable, you end up rooting for the robots! Relatively little gore for a horror movie. Fun if you don't expect too much.
Shot in Door County . Beautiful location. Seemed very realistic. I’m also a Packer fan!
Nah, it’s a great movie, though a bit weird. You'll have to watch it a couple of times to catch all of its nuances, overall an enjoyable movie as long as you keep an open mind.
Everyone should go see this wonderful, nail-biting movie. I remember it well when it happened and was amazed at how the news got the stories and the hectic pace that went with the news. This movie was very well done. I enjoyed it 100%
