I purchased a ticket last Friday cause I am on a Big Screen Kick and this was the only 7pm release I had not seen. No idea what it was about or who in it. Brought my hoodie, gloves, earmuffs and socks, just cause. OK, I am almost 74yrs old and this young woman has only been a blip on my radar previously, Traveling Pants was good, but she was not the breakout there. Maybe there was someone on my heart that I had not acknowledged. I don't know but as soon as I wrapped up warmly, my emotions were gonna have a say, 4 sure. I am not an emotional/feelings person. Tried my best, biting the inside of my left cheek, covering my mouth w/my left hand. 45 yrs. ago, I taught myself to not make a single sound if I had no choice but to allow tears to fall. Well, all that failed me and I ended up a well of uncontrollable emotion, so embarrassed cause, dog bite, I always can control the tears, much less the occasional sob. This young woman gave an intensely personal performance. Yes, there are people like Lily Blossum Bloom. They just are not portrayed on the big screen cause it's a quiet, deeply-open-yourself-up and feel the person you are entrusted to portray. Ms. Lively has much more to offer via the big and small screens. Truly amazing movie because everyone in the movie was giving their all, their best, w/o doing the over-the-top thing. I will see again and bring Kleenex this time. Yawl give it a look-see.
