Kensington Market: Heart of the City Synopsis

Kensington Market: Heart of the City is a feature documentary film that looks at 160 years of colourful history and dynamic life that fuels the heart of Toronto's favourite village within the city.

In addition to being a first home for generations of immigrants to Canada, the market has hosted artists, activists, outlaws and entrepreneurs. Now, the most recent newcomers are threatening the future of the community — land developers, condos and gentrifying landlords — and for many residents, pricing them out. Can the spirit of Kensington survive?
