The Uprising: Wives on Strike Synopsis

Following her inauguration as the local government chairman, Mama Ngozi finds herself ensnared in a web of darkness, battling not only the challenges of her newfound authority but also a nightmarish reality. Her troubled son, Emeka, reemerges, entangled with the sinister Awoju Boys, the prime suspects in a chilling wave of kidnappings. In their close-knit community, Mama Ngozi, Madam 12:30, Iya Bola, Vera, and Mama Amina gather to welcome Ayo, returning home after graduation, only to witness his sudden disappearance. The town descends into chaos, sparking a protest led by Mama Ngozi and other women, demanding government action. What begins as a peaceful demonstration quickly spirals into a descent into the abyss, testing the women's unity and the very essence of their convictions, culminating in a nightmare that threatens to shatter their perseverance and hope.
