In 1990s Oregon, FBI special agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) and her colleagues are searching door to door for a wanted criminal. She gets a feeling about where the criminal is, which turns out to be right.
The FBI immediately give her a series of tests to find out if she has psychic abilities. When the tests prove her to be a semi-psychic, Harker's boss Agent Carter (Blair Underwood) assign her a 30-year-long case of murder-suicides committed by men against their wives and children. The killings always take place on the 14th of any given month, and a coded letter is left behind, signed "Longlegs."
Harker can't figure out the connection between the murders, but one night she's visited by Longlegs, who leaves her a birthday card that includes a key to his written code. Harker begins to uncover clues, but each clue leaves her even more baffled.
